Slope Townhouse Revival 2007
Brooklyn, NY
It sat as an abandoned vacant shell, its interior previously fully
demolished, its stoop removed and its windows altered. Yet it still spoke
of a graceful past and of promise for the future. MDA created a gracious
flowing light-filled layout in what had seemed a narrow townhouse shell.
A warren of cellar level spaces is now a spacious rental apartment; the
upper triplex has a double living room, center stair, paneled dining room,
eat-in-kitchen, rear deck, five bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a wonderful roof
deck. While all new, the renovated space serves a 21st century lifestyle
with some hint of the house’s past history.
