The new owners of this 3000 square foot loft sought open space and zen-like calm in their new home. The existing 1980’s diagonal layout was neither calm nor open. MDA’s renovation grouped smaller functions along in a service bar along the party wall and opened up the larger public spaces; clean modern lines and built-ins in each room to enhance function and the sense of space. The palette of materials is coordinated with the warm charcoal-colored stained flooring and the clear figured maple millwork. The result is a spacious embracing space that is well-suited to their family’s living and entertaining style.
