The new owners of this 2800 square foot penthouse sought to transform a 1980’s postwar apartment into a modern flowing space for their family. The bland color palette and finishes had never been customized; the compartmentalized existing 1980’s layout blocked access to the superb city views. MDA’s renovation opened up the common areas and reconfigured the bedrooms and bathrooms to gain an additional bedroom. New modern built-ins were inserted in each room to enhance function and the sense of space. The result is a light-filled flowing interior with open views to the exterior that is well-suited to their family’s living and entertaining style.
